Pipe cracking
Pipe cracking is used where the old pipeline is badly deformed or where the internal diameter of the old pipe proves too small for the new pipe specified in the design. A hydraulic expander acting as an impact head breaks up the old pipe and widens the path for the new one.

Pipe cracking technology can be used where the old pipeline is broken in places or badly deformed, or where the internal diameter of the old pipe proves too small for the new pipe specified in the design. A hydraulic expander acting as an impact head breaks up the old pipe and widens the path for the new one.
A distinctive feature of pipe cracking technology is that the new pipe can be the same diameter as the pipe being renovated, or even larger.
Advantages of pipe cracking technology
- pipes made of brittle materials such as clay, concrete and cast iron can be replaced using the pipe cracking method.
- the capacity of the new pipe is equal to that of the old one, or even greater if a larger-diameter pipe is installed in place of the existing one.
- pipe cracking can be used to renovate water, sewer and gas pipelines alike.
- compact equipment makes it possible to work even in confined spaces.
Diameters: 100 – 450 mm
