CIPP (Cured-in-Place Pipe) – the INPIPE liner is a technology designed for renovating gravity sewer pipelines. It combines the best features of other renovation methods. The advantages of CIPP – INPIPE are:
- No need for excavation – the work is carried out through Ø1000mm inspection manholes
- Fast installation (up to 120m per day)
- Low labour costs
- Minimal disruption to traffic
- Minimal reduction in pipe diameter
INPIPE – the resin-impregnated glass-fibre fabric is so strong that it can be regarded as a replacement system rather than a repair technique. INPIPE technology has been in use for nearly 30 years. Both practical trials and laboratory tests have shown that it has a service life of at least 50 years.
Material
The base material of INPIPE is glass fibre, which is woven into a tube. This unique method makes it possible to create a new, durable pipe. The glass-fibre fabric is then impregnated with special polyester or vinyl ester resins. The manufacture of the INPIPE liner meets all current requirements in terms of both quality and environmental safety. The INPIPE production process carries ISO 9001:1994 quality assurance. This means that the client is guaranteed a high-quality product.
Installation
The flexible, resin-impregnated INPIPE liner is installed inside the old pipe using compressed air. The process requires little space, and the installation equipment is mobile and easy to transport to site. Once the INPIPE liner has been pressed against the wall of the old pipe by air pressure, it is cured with ultraviolet light. This task is performed by a special ‘train’ fitted with UV lamps, which travels through the entire length of the pipe being lined. In this way, ultraviolet light turns the resin-impregnated glass-fibre material into a strong new pipe inside the old one.
Diameters
INPIPE technology can be used to renovate pipelines with diameters from 150mm to 1600mm.
Renovation of house connections
INPIPE LIP is a modern solution for renovating the laterals that run from buildings to the main sewer. The complete set of equipment required can be transported in a single vehicle, and installation can be carried out either through manholes or from inside the building.
Guarantee
INPIPE products have been tested by independent international institutions. INPIPE has passed the most rigorous tests, both in theory and in practice.
Cost-effectiveness
All the equipment needed for installation can be transported in a single vehicle, which saves resources. No excavation is required to install the INPIPE liner. INPIPE is always made to order for the specific street, taking into account the exact distance between manholes. Experience in Sweden suggests that using INPIPE technology can reduce costs by up to 30% compared with traditional installation methods.
