Pipe bursting
The pipe bursting method is used to renovate water, sewer and gas pipelines. It is similar in many respects to the pipe cracking method and is used where the old pipeline is badly deformed or where the internal diameter of the old pipe proves too small for the new pipe specified in the design. An expander pulled through by static force bursts the old pipe and widens the path for the new one.

Pipe bursting technology is used for renovation in more difficult ground conditions. It generates less noise and vibration.
Advantages of pipe bursting over pipe cracking
- pipelines made of materials that are difficult to break, such as plastic, steel and malleable cast iron, can be renovated
- the work does not cause as much noise and vibration
- individual sections to be renovated can be longer, up to 150 linear metres
- compact equipment makes it possible to work even in confined spaces.
Diameters: 100 – 450 mm
